The Palestinian Basketball Federation opened today, Wednesday, the Basic Course in Basketball Refereeing and Training, in cooperation with Hebron University, with the participation of 55 male and female students from the university. The course will be held in the Hebron Municipality Hall, over two days, December 11 and 12, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The day witnessed a theoretical and practical lecture on the basics of training in basketball, presented by coach Wassim Misk, during which he reviewed the basic concepts of training and their importance in developing players' skills.
The second day will conclude with a lecture on the basics of basketball refereeing, given by referee Bassam Thabet, to provide participants with the necessary knowledge about the rules of the game and the foundations of match management.
The opening of the course was attended by Mr. Firas Dudin, representing the Palestinian Olympic Committee, where he praised the efforts of the Palestinian Basketball Federation and Hebron University in promoting sports among Palestinian youth and supporting their sports careers.
The course aims to enable participants to acquire training and refereeing skills that contribute to enhancing their sports experiences and developing basketball at the level of Palestinian universities.
It is noteworthy that the tournament comes within the Federation's efforts to spread the culture of basketball and encourage young people to engage in various sports fields, which contributes to enhancing the role of sports in Palestinian society.
