Tripoli - The Federation's Media Department - The Palestinian Basketball Federation signed a memorandum of understanding with its Libyan counterpart at the headquarters of the Libyan Federation in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, in order to enhance joint cooperation between them in basketball, where the most prominent provisions of the memorandum of understanding were allowing the players of the Palestinian national team to be treated as Libyan players in terms of rights and duties. This reflects the mutual commitment between the two sides to enhance sports cooperation in general and basketball in particular and to give Palestinian players the opportunity to benefit from the sports opportunities in Libya.

The memorandum was signed by the President of the Palestinian Basketball Federation, Ibrahim Habash, and the President of the Libyan Federation in the presence of a delegation from both sides. The Palestinian Basketball Federation responded to an invitation from its counterpart, the Libyan Federation, where the Palestinian national team delegation, headed by the Federation President Ibrahim Habash, arrived in the capital, Tripoli, to hold a friendly match with the Libyan national team within the framework of strengthening sports relations between the two countries and exchanging experiences.

The Palestinian delegation was received upon arrival in the capital, Tripoli, by members of the Libyan Basketball Federation and the Palestinian Ambassador to Libya, Muhammad Rahhal, who played a pivotal role in facilitating the visit and coordinating with the relevant authorities. Expressing his continued support for the Palestinian national team and the Palestinian Basketball Federation, pointing out the importance of these sports initiatives in strengthening bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.

The opening ceremony of the Rajab Akasha Sports Hall was attended by the Libyan Prime Minister and the Libyan Minister of Sports, along with the heads of the Palestinian and Libyan federations.

This basketball sports event is the culmination of decades of sports cooperation, as Palestine has always been present in Libyan sports events since the opening of the Rajab Akasha Hall in the sixties of the last century, and this presence continues to this day, reflecting the depth of historical and sports relations between the two peoples.

The Palestinian Basketball Federation, through its President Habash, expressed his great thanks and appreciation to the Libyan Federation and the loving Libyan people for this wonderful hosting that carries great meanings. This generosity and warm reception reflects the extent of the fraternal relationship between the two countries, and enhances the spirit of sports cooperation that has linked the two peoples for decades, as it enhances joint cooperation in the field of basketball sports and opens new horizons for future cooperation between the two federations, which contributes to the development of sports in the two countries and achieving

Haish conveyed the greetings of Lieutenant General Jibril Rajoub, Chairman of the Palestinian Olympic Committee and patron of Palestinian sports, to the Libyan brothers and sisters, appreciating their support for Palestinian sports and Palestinian basketball, thanking them for this sports giving towards Palestine.

The Palestinian national team had played a friendly match with its Libyan counterpart, which ended in favor of the host with a score of 73 points to 55. This friendly match for the Palestinian national team comes as part of its preparation for the upcoming events in the Asian qualifiers, and in order for the coach to assess the national team's physical and technical readiness and then select the most prominent of them to participate in the Asian qualifiers.
