Palestinian Basketball Federation Launches Official Website

Jerusalem – Palestinian Basketball Federation Media:

The Palestinian Basketball Federation officially launched its new website (www.Palestine.basketball) on Saturday, during a ceremony held at the National Sports Academy in Al-Bireh. The event was attended by Major General Jibril Rajoub, President of the Palestinian Olympic Committee, Ibrahim Habash, President of the Federation, along with several heads of sports clubs and federations.

In his speech at the launch,  Rajoub praised the creation of the website, emphasizing that it represents a significant step toward institutionalizing the Federation and developing the game. He also urged sports federations to draft strategies for the coming years, leading up to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

For his part, Ibrahim Habash expressed his delight at the website’s launch, highlighting its aim to enhance communication between the Federation and clubs, document the history of Palestinian basketball, and monitor Israeli violations against the sport. Habash described the website as a comprehensive platform that represents Palestinian basketball in all its facets—north, south, and diaspora—reflecting unity and collective effort to elevate the game both locally and internationally.

Comprehensive Website Overview and e-Service Feature

Website designer Issa Abu Aram presented a detailed overview of the website’s various sections, focusing on the e-Service feature designed for Palestinian basketball clubs. Abu Aram explained that this service will provide each club with its own electronic platform, enabling them to handle all administrative tasks, including registration and communication. He highlighted the role of this feature in enhancing the database to be more efficient and inclusive, affirming that the clubs are key partners in the success of this project.

2025 Plan: Nationwide Inclusion and Boundless Efforts

During the event, Federation President Ibrahim Habash outlined the Federation’s 2025 plan. The plan includes preparing the national team to resume its journey in the Asian qualifiers, organizing youth category competitions, and launching technical training programs. Habash stressed that the plan covers the entirety of the homeland, including both the West Bank and Gaza Strip, emphasizing that the Federation will spare no effort to achieve these goals despite all challenges.
