Currently the team stands a good chance to qualify to Asia Basketball Cup 2025. We plan to conduct basketball camps across the next two years to support the team in doing the necessary to qualify to the cup and have the strongest representation.

Women Teams

The PFB aims to continue creating an environment that encourages Palestinian females to play the game of basketball in equal numbers to Palestinian men. Our future plans are centered around the following ideas to develop the Women teams.

• Develop the capacity of Palestinian females coaches.
• Increase the number of Palestinian female players.
• Increase the number of Palestinian women teams playing the different women leagues
• Recruit Palestinian talents from the diaspora.
• Organize camps to enhance the Basketball level and culture among the women players.

Juniors

They are the future of the game. Our federation aims to expand the base by scouting for potential talent and increase the number of under 12-year-olds joining the game. Our plan to achieve the following is centered around the following:

• Conduct all year long basketball schools led by both international and Palestinian coaches for both men and women.
• Conduct tournaments for under 12 years old to encourage players through competition.

Refining Referees Skills

Preparing technical supervisors to serve in Asia. The referees remain to be a building stone for the sport of basketball to develop in Palestine. We as the federation desire to refine the skills and capacity of Palestinian referees. Our plan is centered around the following:

• Certify more Palestinian referees both female and male.
• Conduct annual workshops to enhance the capacity of the referees.

• Accredit Palestinian referees to be able to practice internationally.

Coaches

There is also an urgent need to invest in supporting Palestinian coaches, increasing their numbers, classifying them, and training them to lead new teams. Our ambition is to have coaches who can work full time as basketball coaches and dedicate their time to improve their coaching capacity and enhance the basketball skills in the country. To do so, we need to start with international coaches to bring the needed knowledge.

Talents in the Diaspora

Scouting new talents in the diaspora The federation will look for new blood to Palestinian basketball teams and investing in our women’s and junior teams will be the target set for the next stage. 

Scouting talents will be done at both school level as well as diaspora.
